The authentic VALENCIAN PAELLA is cooked with meat of chicken and rabbit, although there are other types. The pan where it is cooked also is named 'paella'. The Fallas are the Valencian local fiestas that are celebrated from March 15th to 19th.

They are monuments of satirical character on today's news, which are able to measure up 30 meters height or more. Until a few years ago they were constructed in papyrolit, now they are made with expanded polystyrene (white cork), and are supported by a framework of wood. Every scene is explained by signs in Valencian language in critical and ironic sense.

The artists of the fallas, carpenters, painters and sculptors work for months creating the monuments in their workshops, showing a great creativity. The fallas go out to the streets at the beginning of March, are built by means of big cranes and have to be finished the night of March 15th, day of the plantà. On the 19th night they will be burned in the event of the cremà.

Las Fallas son las fiestas valencianas que se celebran del 15 al 19 de marzo.

Son monumentos de carácter satírico sobre temas de actualidad, que pueden alcanzar y superar los 30 metros de altura. Hasta hace unos años eran construidas en cartón piedra, ahora se suelen hacer con poliestireno expandido (corcho blanco), y están sostenidas por un armazón de madera. Cada escena va explicada con letreros en valenciano con sentido crítico e irónico.

Los artistas falleros, carpinteros, pintores y escultores se dedican durante meses a construir los monumentos en sus talleres, haciendo gala de una gran creatividad. Las fallas salen a la calle a principios de marzo, se van montando mediante grandes grúas y han de estar terminadas la noche del 15 de marzo, día de la plantà. El día 19 por la noche serán quemadas en el acto de la cremà.
